SESSION 2:After viewing the video (Revised)

Hi, Everybody. Did you all view the video? After viewing the video, I could answer the following question which Jenny ask
1.Which departments within the company are integrated within the Order-to-Delivery process?
My answer: In the video, we know that the sale and marketing department and the warehouse department are interated within the Order-to-Delivery process.


2.Which steps are included in the Order-to-Delivery process?
My answer: First of all, the staffs recevied the order from clients, then enter all the order in the system.Because the system is connected to warehouse. After checked, they can know the storage of the warehouse and confirm the order. Secondly, the warehouse department can know the order at the same them and arrange the delivery as soon as possible.

3.What factors would you consider when deciding whether ERP is suitable or not for a small business?
My answer: I consider about the benefit after using the system when deciding whether ERP is suitable or not for a small business such as can the system let us handle the order more smooth, increase efficiency, more communication between the department and improve the performance.
Then i will consider the range of functions and business processes.
First, if my company accepts order in "RENMINBI" but the ERP doesn't support "RENMINBI" payments yet. I will request the software company to add kinds of function for transfer the currency that we need.
Also, the employee's knowledge of using the system is my considration. They use this system hardly and let the job quality worse than before. That means the system is useless.

  1. Would you also consider the range of functions and business processes supported ? Let's say your company accepts orders in renminbi but the ERP doesn't support renminbi payments yet. Would you still purchase the ERP or try to customize it ?

  2. Noted your updates ! You are also right that the amount of new learning is a factor in choosing ERP. If it's too complex to learn, then employees may make mistakes in using the system or worse, refuse to use it at all.
